Dear Sirs/Madam at PennDOT:
We are requesting that a PennDOT representative would look at Irish Ridge Road SR 1023.
We have spoken to our local PennDOT representative Mr. McMicken and he advised us that SR 1023 was on PennDOT schedule for repair in the year 2022. We at Wysox Township are concerned with the safety of this road. There are 3’ ditches in some spots and water is crisscrossing randomly at several spots on this road.
We feel this road needs immediate care as it is now a safety, security, health and welfare issue with Wysox Township. The population on the road is sparse but the road itself gets crossover traffic that gets heavy in the morning and evening.
We have physically talked to no less than 10 residents that would be willing to get a petition started for immediate repairs if needed. A new bridge on SR 1023 will only increase the traffic flow when completed. The landowner is on board for assistance. At this point a majority of Irish Ridge Road is little more than a creek bed in spots. To reinforce Wysox Township does understand that it is not our road in ownership and we are sympathetic to all the work PennDOT has been strapped with due to recent severe weather events.
On behalf of the residents of Wysox Township, we are requesting the road be brought up to PennDOT standards.
Thank you,
Jon Kulick, Manager

Attention Sirs/Madam:
Most of us enjoy our hunting and outdoor activities, fishing, hunting, boating, kayaking, and picnicking. This is the short list of activities that we either participate in or know a family member that does.
We at Wysox Township are head long into a project and we are asking hat in hand for your financial help. Our Wysox Boat Launch, now re-branded Wysox Park is in a 3 phase DCNR Grant Pilot Program. A short list of what should be the end result follows:
- New Pavilion ADA accessible (May 2019)
- New improved truck & trailer watercraft parking up to 17 new slots (May 2019)
- New ADA picnic tables (May 2019)
- Stream and riverbank pedestrian trail and restoration
Phase 2
- All-purpose recreation field
- New lighting
- Upgraded security
- Upgraded grilling stations
- New trash receptacles
- New dual boat launch areas
- Canoe/Kayak launch area – new paved road in to destination
Phase 3
- New sanitary facilities
- New mapping & flow charts of Susquehanna River
- Wildlife recognition charts
- Native Plant applications
Attached is the list of our expanded vision on this beautiful piece of property for all to enjoy of any State, Township or Borough.
State and Federal Grants only cover so much of this ambitious project. We are breaking ground for Phase 1 sometime in May of 2019.
Any donations will be directly applied to this project and will be greatly appreciated. The Wysox Park is a heavily used launch area and also has many various events that utilize the current facility. Including but not limited to water sports, grilling, birthday parties, senior events, river rest points and fish floats to name just a few.
We can with your help make this park a family point of destination for years to come.
Please help us with a donation for this outdoor family based community endeavor.
All donations will be recognized publicly by our Wysox Park Committee.
Thank you.
